Humanities at NFPS is a whole school focus. It is a chance for students to explore their world, whether it be the world where they live today, what it has been in the past or the possible world of the future. From prep when they start to develop an awareness of their community and environment to Level 4 when they examine the specific standards of History, Geography and Economics, students begin to understand the world around them and their impact on it.

They participate in celebrations, including both multicultural celebrations like Carnevale and Harmony week, to uniquely Australian celebrations and commemorations such as ANZAC day and Labour Day. They begin to understand the cultures and histories that have contributed to Australian society and by seeing and hearing about other places outside their experience, they begin to consider how and why other times and places are different from their own. The curriculum is delivered via rich learning projects across the school.
