The Visual Arts program at North Fitzroy Primary School is structured to provide each student with a broad- based and balanced experience. The major areas taught at all levels are drawing, painting, clay, construction and textiles. Other areas including puppetry, mask making, kite making, projects related to Harmony Week, our Italian LOTE program, the school fete, concerts, school and local community are also celebrated through and integrated into the visual art program when appropriate.
The Art Room is a spacious and well-equipped environment that has good working space, storage and a potter’s kiln.
The Visual Arts program caters for all students from Prep through to year six. Each student attends the art room for a weekly one-hour session. In addition portraiture classes, animation, claymation, photography, movie making and working in charcoal are offered through the Extend Your Talents program.
